The Family Presents Story

Our Story

The Family Presents Family

Family Presents is very much a family business. I guess it’s fair to say that we (Rosie and Adam) are at the helm of it all, but Gracie, Poppy and Freddie play an integral part in our exciting story.

Rosie and Adam met when teaching together in 2010 and have been running businesses together ever since.

2020 was a difficult year for everybody. In the midst of the global pandemic, everybody was affected in so many ways.

After the necessary homeschooling during the day and being almost completely confined to the house apart from the ‘daily walk’ we constantly tried to find new and innovative ways to keep Gracie (12), Poppy (6) and Freddie (1) entertained. Trying to minimise the amount of screen time was a real challenge.

The Family Presents Story

Like so many others, we scoured social media and the internet for recipes and arts and craft ideas that used ingredients we had lying around our home, or something we could easily pick up from the supermarket during our weekly shop.

We were almost always missing a vital ingredient and so it made a lot of this creativity prohibitive. There’s only so many cookies and flapjacks you can make, right?

One evening Rosie flippantly said, whilst scrolling through more online ideas, ‘what I want is for all of this stuff just to appear at the doorstep.’ A few days and bottles of wine later, the concept of Family Presents was born. That’s our story.

The Family Presents Vision

Our vision is to keep building a sustainable company that stands the test of time. We know that the families who choose to subscribe to Family Presents really value their time together and our family are no different.

Alongside building a world-class product, we also care about the sustainability of the planet, doing our bit for others and helping out other businesses.

OUR PLANET

We love the planet and want to do our bit to help preserve it. That’s why all of our contents are pre-measured and we work hard to minimise any plastic we send you. We’re on a mission to help families have ‘just the right amount of materials in their arts and crafts drawers.

OUR PRODUCT

We’re on a mission to create a world class product that every family is excited to receive. All of our boxes are created and packaged with the same love and attention that we would expect if we ordered it ourselves. That’s the Family Presents promise.

Meet our Families

“Excellent Surprises each month. This is by far the best subscription box I have ever used. My daughter is so excited as soon as the box arrives.”

The Family Presents Culture

‘Work is much more fun than fun’

– Noel Coward

From the day that the idea of the business was conceived in 2020, we’ve had so much fun. We will never forget tying the ribbon on the very first family presents box, ready to send out.

It gives us an enormous sense of pride that our ideas and concepts are being enjoyed by families all over the United Kingdom.

There are stressful times too, often when the outside world sleeps, you will find us both testing recipes, packing boxes or stood changing the cartridges of the printer in the very small hours of the morning.

But the journey so far has been enlightening and fun and we want to keep it that way.

We recognise that as we build our brand, we will not always be able to stay working from home, which is where the first ever Family Presents box was filled and wrapped.

We want to create a workspace that our children are excited to come and visit after school, somewhere where we can Play, Make, Bake and Do.
